Gansu University of Traditional Chinese Medicine (GUCM), founded in 1978 in Lanzhou, is the primary TCM institution on the ancient Silk Road, uniquely positioned to study herbal medicines derived from the high-altitude grasslands, deserts, and mountains of China's northwest.
